like the new digs?

Well, this is new.

I finally did it. I finally got my ass in gear, redesigned the blog, and made the move from to self-hosted. As of this writing there are a still a few kinks I need to work out, and I might mess with the styles a bit more in the coming days, but this is pretty much it.

The genesis of this redesign can pretty much be summed up as:

  • FONTS!
  • Some colors!
  • I love booze!
  • I love lemons, too!
  • Lines are pretty okay!

I decided to shorten the appearance of longer posts on the main page by putting in a “MORE” break. New posts will be highlighted in color at the top of the page. A featured image thumbnail will appear next to the text on the main page, which I suppose will provide me with an impetus to include at least one image in each post. Sigh. Fine.

Other than that, things are pretty much the same around here, man. I will still be the same verbose, sporadically-posting blogger as ever. Don’t be fooled by the blog that I got. I’m still I’m still Lynny from the block.

What do you think? Is it decent? Do you HAAAAAAAAAAAATE it? What?

PS — If you don’t hate it and you want to stick around, pretty pretty please check that your reader subscriptions/bookmarks/links [EDIT: Hold on, something is wonky with the RSS feed and I don’t have time to try to fix it right now because there’s this WORK THING and they EXPECT ME TO DO IT and so I’ll try to fix it later ARGH] [EDIT: Everything seems to be in working order with the feed, and it seems to show full content from each post. Email me if you have issues or have a different experience] are dialed to Content will no longer be updated at

  1. Love it! Great colours, very readable. The only concrit I can give is, I would really like not having to click a “read more” tag to read your full post.

    • Let me see what I can do, Samantha. Looks like I’m going to have to rebuild the feed anyway so I can see if there’s a way to get everything to show up at once.

  2. You aren’t working in my Google reader. What do I do now?

    • Cry. That’s pretty much my approach at this point.

OOOOOOKay fine. I’ll work on it tonight/tomorrow and see how to fix. Thanks for alerting me to the issue!

    • I think I fixed it. Let me know if it doesn’t work for you again?

  3. It’s so preeeettty!

  4. Wow I love it! So good lady.

  5. First – Eeeeeeek! Redesign! Finally! Bold colors! Fun!
Second – I love the colors, the lines, the booze, the lemons, and the first post highlight. And I believe in the page jump, even if I don’t like them.
Third- I love the header fonts.
Lastly – I love your writing, so I was sticking around for your verbosity anyhow. But now it has a pretty pretty package to go with it. Yay.

    • Huzzah! I figure most people read through RSS readers, so they only see the site if they want to comment. But dammit, it makes ME feel better.

  6. LOOKS AWESOME, lyn. GREAT work. i love the colors. i love the booze + lemons. GREAT JOB.

  7. I love it, and I’m jealous, and now I want some lemonade. With XXX in it.

Also, I’d like to reiterate that I’m jealous and I kind of hate you, but not more than I hate BLOGGER UGHHHHH.

(you know I really love you.)

  8. Awesome-ness! Love the header!

Also, it was the perfect distraction from the atrocity that is the Canucks-in-Boston. Gaah!

  9. raahh! awesome redesign! I liked it before but this is superrad.

  10. Spiffy! I’m digging the color combo.

  11. Thanks everyone! <3

  12. this looks amazing! I love it!

  13. I was so confused. But that’s easy to do, you know.

Let me know how the “read more” thing is working for you. I’m contemplating it, but am not sure if I want to do it. There are definite camps on the “read more” button. I’m a fence sitter.

But I certainly like the booze and lemons and the lines. I like it much.
